Couleecap Food and Food Assistance

Nourishing Families, Strengthening Communities

Two people organize groceries from stocked metal shelves at a Couleecap food pantry, with canned goods, boxed foods, and baked items neatly arranged.
Kim Cable volunteers at a Couleecap Thanksgiving event, wearing sunglasses and a plaid hoodie stands outdoors near a crate filled with bags of carrots. Other people are gathered around tables in the background, participating in a community food distribution event.

Connecting Communities to Nutritious Food

Couleecap partners with local food pantries, meal sites, and shelters across Crawford, La Crosse, Monroe, and Vernon counties to ensure community members facing food insecurity can access nutritious groceries and meals when they need them most.

As a designated Emergency Food Organization, Couleecap helps administer The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) by coordinating the distribution of government-provided food to eligible pantry partners. This allows our partner sites to serve individuals and families with dignity and care, offering a variety of essential food items.

If you or someone you know is in need of food assistance, please contact a pantry in your area using the list below. If you cannot locate a pantry nearby, we encourage you to reach out to us.

To receive TEFAP food, your household income must fall under 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
