Emergency Heating Support When You Need It Most

Emergency No-Heat Help Is Available

Couleecap Heating & Cooling provides support through the HE+ HVAC Program to help eligible low-income Wisconsin homeowners when their primary heating  systems fail or become unsafe. If your system stops working during the heating season (October 1 through May 15), and you qualify for Energy Assistance, help may be available to repair or replace your furnace quickly and safely.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for assistance, applicants must:

  • Have a household income at or below 60% of the state median income. View Income Chart (PDF)
  • Currently receive Energy Assistance through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
  • Own the home in need of service and provide proof of ownership
  • Have an existing but non-functioning furnace

Step 1: Contact Your Local County Office

If you are experiencing a no-heat emergency, call your local energy assistance office immediately.

Step 2: Wait for a Contractor Call

Once eligibility is confirmed, a program contractor will contact you by phone.

Non-emergency seasons (May 16–September 30)
Contractors have 10 business days to assess the issue and 30 days to complete repairs or replacements.

Emergency heating season (October 1–May 15)
Contractors must assess a furnace issue within 24 hours and complete repairs or replacements within 72 hours under normal circumstances.
