Saving Energy Saves You Money

Couleecap provides weatherization services to help individuals and families reduce energy use, lower utility bills, and live more comfortably year-round. These services are available at no cost to eligible households and are funded through the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP).

Weatherization services may include:

  • Insulating attics and sidewalls
  • Sealing air leaks
  • Inspecting or repairing furnaces
  • Replacing inefficient appliances such as older water heaters, refrigerators, and freezers

Services are available to both homeowners and renters.

If you received Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) support during the current heating season (October 1 – May 15), you may qualify for Couleecap’s weatherization services. Homes are prioritized for weatherization based on the State of Wisconsin’s High Energy Users Priority list. Renters are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for weatherization services, you must:

  • Have a household income at or below 60% of the state median income. View Income Chart (PDF)

All programs are funded by the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources (DEHCR).
